ISAAC ASIMOV AND THE ATTEMPT TO GOVERN MACHINES: NOTES ON THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ELECTORAL PROPAGANDA DURING THE 2024 ELECTIONS

The use of artificial intelligence is a growing reality in several aspects today and, in recent decades, its rise in the political context has been notable, especially with regard to its use in electoral propaganda. This work addresses the main nuances of using AI in electoral propaganda, with a special focus on the Brazilian context and attempts to regulate this phenomenon in the 2024 elections, considering the complexity of regulating political campaigns on the internet and identifying the best practices to face the emerging challenges. The objective is to contribute to this debate by identifying the main ethical and legal risks and challenges related to the use of AI in electoral advertisements and proposing solutions to mitigate the identified risks and challenges, such as the creation of specific regulation on the topic.
