In this brief essay, we focus on issues of electoral criminal law, more specifically on the rules governing criminal jurisdiction within Electoral Justice. Before turning to this analysis, it is important to acknowledge the significant advances proposed in the bill under discussion, particularly with regard to criminal matters, through a measured strengthening and rationalization of criminal offenses, which now more adequately protect legal interests truly central to the electoral process. Finally, although recent scenarios of jurisdictional connection involving electoral crimes have often revealed large‑scale corruption schemes, the Electoral Code bill itself introduces a novel concern by addressing the delimitation of criminal jurisdiction, offering new elements for reflection on the institutional role and scope of Electoral Justice in this context.
